Gavin Steinhobel was admitted as an attorney in 1996 and as a conveyancer in 2004.  After passing the Notarial Practice Competency Exam in September 2022 with the top result in KwaZulu-Natal, Gavin was admitted as a Notary Public in January 2023.

After admission as an attorney, Gavin practiced law in Newcastle for ten years, heading up the litigation department for Du Toit Peen Steinhobel Inc., Du Toit Steinhobel Van Rensburg Inc. and finally Saville and Steinhobel Inc., before moving to Ballito in 2006.

For the period 2006 to 2012 Gavin took a sabbatical from the legal profession to pay attention to his furniture retail stores and other interests. He returned to practice in 2013, initially as an associate attorney with the firm De Wet Leitch Hands Inc. in Ballito.

In 2014 Gavin opened the Ballito branch of Kloppers Incorporated and in the intervening years he has grown the branch into one of the busiest conveyancing practices in Ballito.

Gavin has been happily married to local business woman Debbie Steinhobel since 2001 and they have two children, Liam and Kate. Gavin is an active member of the local clay pigeon shooting club, an avid golfer and a lifelong motorcyclist.
