There’s a new Notary in town

15 November 2018 ,  Pamela Pillay 291

Pamela Pillay stood in front of a judge at the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Friday, but she was not there to represent a client.

Instead, she was filing an application to be admitted as a Notary Public. Having passed her Notarial Exam in August, the action saw her achieve the coveted ‘Triple Threat’ status of being an admitted Attorney, Notary and Conveyancer. And she does not intend to stop there.

Pamela says passing the exam was a very personal achievement to her. "This was the second time that I wrote the Notarial Exam, and it was a relief that I was one of the few that passed because I do not like to fail." Of the 41 people that wrote the most recent exam in KZN, Pamela was one of only 11 that passed.

She openly thanks John Christie and Gawie Le Roux for their input in the form of motivation, notes and lectures into her achieving this feat. "They were a really big help, and I regret not using their courses for the first exam!"   Since joining Kloppers Inc’s Richards Bay office in March 2018, she has become a much-appreciated member of the team, whose expertise has proven deeply valuable on more than a few occasions.

Not one to rest on her laurels, Pamela has enrolled to do her LLM in the new year. "My topic is undecided as yet, but I know they right idea will come to me."
