Harassing callers - where do they get my number from and what recourse does South African law provide to stop these calls?

Have you been receiving calls from unknown cell phone numbers or private numbers? Do these callers continue calling at least... three or four times a day, and when you answer, you are greeted with an automated response, or often the person on the other end disconnects the call? Have you ever wondered how these callers get your cell phone number in the first place?
